Stay at Home Chapter 3 - Day 42 + 1

 Friday May 21

This is the beginning of the 2 week extension to the stay at home order, in effect until June 2.  After that, the province is starting to open things up in three stages with 3 weeks in between each stage.  I wasn't really paying attention so I don't know what is opening first.  Oh wait, golf courses open on Saturday.  After that I don't really know.  This time the determining factor to opening another stage is not daily cases but number of vaccinations given.

I had a few errands to run today.  First stop, the library to return a couple of books - none to pick up though.

HistoryBoy had an appointment at the chiropractor's to see about the scoliosis. He did an adjustment and recommended some exercises but there isn't really anything that can be done.  And it's not a very severe case.  Later in the day, I did get an appointment from the hospital for an x-ray of his back.  We're to go next week and I was quite surprised about that.  I thought, considering all the back-logs we hear about due to covid, that it would be months before we got an appointment.

I had to get food for the dog as well.  It just so happens that there's a garden centre right next door to where I buy the dog food.  When I first arrived there was a huge line up, well 5 people, to get into the garden centre and I thought forget this, I'm not standing in this line.  Fortunately, by the time I had purchased the dog food and put it in the car, the line was down to just I person. Of course, I joined it.  I bought a foxglove, some sweet william and a bunch of petunias. I've had foxgloves before but they never come back the second year.  Turns out, according to the lady ringing in my purchases, I need to collect the seeds and plant them in the fall.  I'll try it.

After supper, I had to pop out to the Sobeys and pick up HB's birthday cake.  And lo and behold, didn't the Sobeys have some nice looking ferns.  So I bought 4 to replace the ones I didn't get from Veseys.  I think I'm done buying stuff for the garden. Now I just have to plant it all.

Until tomorrow.  Stay sane.
