Stay at Home Chapter 3 Day 2

 Friday April 9

The big news of the day, of course, was the death of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.  Not a shock- the man was almost 100 and had been ill but somehow you think he and the Queen are going to be around forever.  Maybe it's because for most people he has been around forever.  There'll not be a big funereal of course but I'll watch whatever ceremony there will be.  Because nobody does pomp and circumstance like the Brits.

In other news, HistoryBoy finished his high school  career today.  He goes to a private school which works on a 3 semester system like the universities and colleges.  Exams start next Friday and the week of the 12th is Review Week.  But none of his 3 courses have exams, just summatives so none of his teachers are holding classes.  He was supposed to get his grad photos taken on Monday but that's been kyboshed of course.  So... he's done.  We're done.  We started in 2001 with ScienceGirl in kindergarten so we've been at this game for 20 years.  Yeah, I'm done.

I had to go downtown this morning for a chiropractic appointment and you'd never know we're all supposed to be staying home.  The roads were as busy as usual.  Himself reported that the Sobeys was busy when he stopped in after work.  And they were lined up to get into the LCBO.  I've got enough to keep me occupied around here for a bit.

Until tomorrow. Stay sane.

Pity about a lockdown graduation but congrats to your family

  2. Thank you. I suspect it'll be some kind of a drive-thru thing like last year which is a shame for the kids.
