Sunday, January 3
It was gently snowing when I woke up this morning. The snow was thick enough to stick to the branches of the trees so it was quite pretty. But if it's snowing, then the sun is not shining. It's getting depressing writing those words day in, day out. So I'm not going to mention the sun unless it is shining.
HistoryBoy applied to university today. It seemed to be a fairly involved process - first he had to make an account with the application centre, then he had to actually apply to his three choices. For one of them he had to upload proof of Canadian citizenship. Jeez, it wasn't that hard when I did it - just a paper form and I think there was carbon paper. Dating myself there.
Himself drove ScienceGirl back to Toronto today. They had to stop at the Penguin Pick-up Centre on the way to get some part for her IKEA bed. This was new to me; a building in a Penguin centre shopping plaza where you pick up your on-line purchases. A result of Covid, I guess.
We pretty much told her she couldn't come home until the week-end. Is that mean? She face timed again tonight. Good God, she only left 9 hours before. It wouldn't be so bad if I could go about my activities and still talk to her. But I just have to sit there. And it's not like we have a whole lot to talk about seeing as she only left, you know, 9 hours before. She was busy folding her wash and putting it away, still going about her business so that kind of annoyed me.
The holidays are over. Sad to see them finish but it'll be nice to get into a routine again.
Back tomorrow.
Stay sane.
