Today was a lovely winter's day. The sun was shining brightly which it hasn't done in a long time, it wasn't too cold only -4.
I took the Trouts to see Luddite Granny this morning. She is one of those seniors suffering from the isolation of Covid. She normally is very active; she sings in seniors' choir, volunteers at the hospital, meets her friends for tea once a week at the nearby Tim's. All of which has been put on hold for the time being. She makes an excuse to go out somewhere everyday. Today she was at the chiropractor getting her blood pressure taken because she can't use the machine at the Shopper's. Tomorrow she has to get some groceries. She likes company but is reluctant to invite other single people over for tea. Are you even allowed to do that right now? So anyway, she was glad to see us.
Himself, ScienceGirl and I drove down to Simcoe to see their "Christmas Panaroma" light display. Normally (I'm using that word a lot), they'd have little lit up scenes set up throughout the park but this year it was just lights strung through all the trees and bushes. It was still lovely, just different. The town didn't really want you stopping and getting out to wander through the park - there were no stopping signs all along the route - but everybody was. According to the website, they didn't want to do nothing because it has been a tradition for yonks but this year they adapted so people wouldn't congregate. It'll be back to the usual next year as will a lot of things.
Talk to you tomorrow.
Stay sane.
