Friday May 14
This'll be the third time I've tried to published this post - it keeps disappearing so we'll see what happens.
The first task of the day was to return some library books and pick up some new ones.
All but the Jacqueline Winspear are new to me.
The second task was to take HistoryBoy to the bank to deposit some cash and a cheque. Since I was taking him to the teller, old school, I told him he would have to sign the back of the cheque. He started to panic and said, "I wasn't taught cursive writing; I can't sign my name." "But," I said, "I've been telling you for two years you'd better figure out a signature because you'll need it one day. You should have been practising you signature." In the few minutes it took for me to pick up my books, he was madly writing his name on any scrap piece of paper he could find in the car. Neither of my kids were taught how to write and now it's coming back to bite them on the arse.
The third errand of the day was to pick up a tablecloth I had in the dry cleaners since after Christmas. I knew the they were open because I asked the owner who was at the next wicket at the bank. My kids think I'm weird because I talk to the shop-keepers and the bank tellers.
Until tomorrow. Stay sane.
