Stay at Home Chapter 3 - Day 14

Wednesday April 21

This is what greeted me this morning as I opened the front window curtains.

Isn't that a sight? I wasn't impressed but it could have been worse.  Some places in Ontario got 5 or 6 cms.  The daffys look unscathed as I went out for my evening constitutional which was perishing. The high for Friday is supposed to be 15 so there's that to look forward to.

I dragged HB out for the walk tonight because he hasn't been out of the house in about a week.  I'm not kidding.  If there's no reason for me to leave the house, there's even less for him.  But it's not healthy, physically or mentally.

I had an appointment with the lab for my 3 month diabetic blood work.  Before the plague, this lab allowed you just to walk in.  You could make an appointment if you wanted to but I never did.  The walk-in wait was never that long.  Now, of course, you have to make an appointment on-line or over the phone.  Luddite Granny, who also uses this lab, has no computer so must rely on the phone like a lot of other people, senior or otherwise.   She tried to make an appointment one day and the phone rang and rang and rang.  She wasn't even put on hold with an automated system; the phone was just never answered.  When the ladies at the lab asked if she had an appointment, she made the point of telling them that she tried without success. Then they got snippy and said the wait would be half an hour (which it wasn't). Some guy came in while LG was waiting and told them the same thing.  I have to go again in July; I think I'm just going to walk in like I used to.

Many happy returns of the day to Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth II.  She's had a hard go of it the last little while with her dick of a son who may or may not be a pedophile and her whiny grandson and his sociopathic wife.  And of course the death of her husband of 70 odd years.  But she will carry on as she always has, bless her heart.

Until tomorrow.  Stay sane.
