Happy Easter! It's a lovely Spring day here chez Trouts. The sun is shining and it's about 16*.
The Easter Bunny was off her game this year. The kids did get Easter treats but not the usual basket overflowing with jelly beans, gummi rabbits and chocolate eggs and a Lindt rabbit. I had a bit of a job finding some stuff; the shelves just didn't seem as full this year or maybe I was just too late. ScienceGirl only wanted that 1kg bag a Cadbury mini eggs so that was easy. HistoryBoy got a little bag of eggs and the Lindt rabbit. SG picked out her own present last week so she knew what she was getting and HB got a white board 4 month calendar and dry erase markers in preparation for September when he goes off to university. Not very exciting but, like I said, the Easter Bunny couldn't actually give a shit.
We watched church this morning which, even after a year, is weird and just not the same. But we do what we can to keep a semblance of normalcy. Luddite Granny was here for her lunch of store-bought salads and roast chicken and a bit of ham out of the freezer. And the pies. Supper was Do-It-Yourself Sunday so the Trouts had some sketchy frozen pizza, Himself had some foul smelling croquettes and I had a little tub of yogurt.
My crocuses (or is it croci?) are all up and blooming (picture tomorrow maybe). The tulip leaves are starting to poke up as well. I hope to get out in the garden this week and take all the dead sticks and leaves out. Himself did some raking this morning but left a lot behind. I had heard somewhere that we shouldn't rake too early because there were still all sorts of bugs and critters still hibernating in the leaves and grass. I hope it was ok to do it now. Well, it's too late anyway.
Until tomorrow.
Stay sane.
Crocuses. I had to look it up a while ago because I wasn't sure either. The Easter bunny slacked off a bit here, too. -Jenn
