Who Knows Your Business?
I've decided that the mailman knows most of my business. Never mind the government or those data-mining freaks, the mailman knows an awful lot about me and the family and it doesn't take him too much effort.
He knows where I bank, that I have my own credit card and that I have some sort of account at a different bank.
He knows that we have investments with a certain company.
He knows my full name because I get stuff from the government.
He knows what denomination I am because I subscribe to the church magazine; he even knows what actual church I attend because I get my givings receipt 4 times a year.
He knows that we have some appliance that runs on natural gas, rent a water softener and what carrier we use for hydro.
He knows who we use for the phone and who we use for the cable.
He knows, obviously, what magazines we read. And what some of our hobbies and interests are.
He knows we have relations in Britain because of the Christmas cards that arrive.
He can guess when our birthdays come around because the cards fill the mailbox.
He knows where Himself's benefits come from.
He knows that someone in the house has had braces on their teeth.
That's a lot of information stuff he knows about us. That's kinda creepy. Do they have to sign some sort of confidentiality thing so they don't blab your business to all and sundry?
At least we don't have anything that comes wrapped in plain brown paper.

It's kinda scary the information other people have about us!
ReplyDeleteYes, but imagine having to remember all those details for everyone who lives in your street,a nd all the homes around you...he'd have to have a mahoosive brain!!
