Boy won't be in the Olympics

Well, it's that time of year again. Time to sign the trouts up for summer sports. Girl is easy. She'll play soccer again as she has for the past 7 years. Done. Boy is a little more difficult.

Last year was Boy's first year in soccer. Because he was 5, he went into mini-soccer. They play 3 to a side plus a goalie across the width of the field. There is half an hour of warm-up and skills drills and then half an hour game. It was our version of hell on earth. Boy hated it and would tell you after every game. But because we had made a committment, we kept dragging our arses to the field every Saturday for about 2 months. We asked him a few times during the year if he would like to play soccer again. Each time he answered, "No, I hate soccer."

So, we'll try tee-ball this year.
