I'm Cold

This is what LegoBoy had the nerve to say to me as we were standing at our cenotaph during the Remembrance Day service.

Without missing a beat I turned to him and said,

We are here to remember boys not much older than you who had to endure much colder temperatures than this, the muck of the trenches, the rats, the lice and fleas, the constant gunfire and barrage of artillery fighting for your freedom 100 years later.  A lot came home physically maimed, many came home with their minds destroyed and many more never came home. Now, tell me again you're cold.

At least he had the sense to look embarrassed.

  1. Well done. I listened to a broadcast on Sunday where a historian talked of many boys lying about their age to enlist. -Jenn
