March Break began auspiciously enough - saw my first robin yesterday afternoon hopping its way through the muck that is our backyard at the moment. That's a sure sign of spring, isn't it?
Girl got off to Europe safely, I guess. I didn't get a call from Customs and Immigration telling me she had been detained for not packing her toothbrush properly.
Boy and I have some excitment planned for the week.
This morning we went grocery shopping. He got a ton of treats because I feel bad that we're not going away as planned. We were going to visit the Nation's Capital but circumstances changed at that end so that got cancelled. Now he's bouncing around to a Veggie Tales video.
Tuesday I'm having the carpets cleaned. I know. It is really too much excitement. I'll do some baking with Boy since we'll be stuck in the kitchen while the carpet guys are cleaning the shit (literally, dog shit, kid shit and vomit and goodness know what all else) out of my carpets. I hate baking with the kids. It always goes badly. I can start out in the best of moods, but after about 5 minutes I have zero patience and I turn into this mad thing, yelling and shouting.
Wednesday Boy wants to go to the toy store. Bless his heart, it doesn't really take much to make him happy. He has some money from Valentine's day and he wants to buy some more Playmobil stuff. We're already being over-run by knights and pirates so a few more won't matter.
Thursday we're planning a day out with Granny. I haven't quite decided what that will be yet but will involve a stop at Picard's Peanuts for some chip nuts.
Friday Himself is taking the day off so we might actually go somewhere sort of interesting, like the museum or a movie. Fighting the crowds and enjoying every minute of it.
Sunday is a trip to the airport to pick up Girl. I'm looking forward to that. I haven't been to the airport in years because I don't get out much. I have yet to see the new Terminal 1. Of course, if it's jam-packed with returning holidayers and their 500 cousins coming to meet them, I will turn into a mad thing, yelling and shouting. Crowds and the Hen don't get along. Himself said that Pearson wasn't too frantic last Friday, which surprised me, so maybe that'll hold true for Sunday.
That's our week. The excitement just might do me in.
